Alright, it’s official…I feel old! I know many of you are thinking, “I’ve got socks older than you, brat!”…hear me out! I just celebrated my 24th birthday and for some reason I am struggling with it a little bit. I can’t help but remember back when I use to think 21 would NEVER get there! Now I am just passing 24, weird. I know I have many things to be thankful for, at this age my sister had already been gone for over a year. I’m thankful for where I am in my life and all the amazing experiences I’ve had thus far. However, I still wonder…
Why are birthdays so scary? What is it about that one day out of the year that makes it so intimidating? It’s just another day…actually it’s better than just a regular day, on this specific day you get money and gifts JUST FOR BEING ALIVE! I mean seriously how horrible can that really be? I guess we just have to keep telling ourselves, it’s just another day, you are who you are regardless of your age. I challenge all of us on our next birthday to celebrate our accomplishments, remember what we’re grateful for and set goals for the year to come!

Had no idea that you were at all conflicted over bdays! The things you learn about people on blogs…I think you are an old soul (and I mean that in the most loving way!). You seem to get stuff that most people take a lifetime to realize.
Personally, I love my birthday even tho I’ve had more than I’d care to admit. It feels like the whole country celebrates my day (July 3 — stores are open til 10!
So no issue here whatsoever. I was very glad to help you celebrate yours.
